THANK YOU FOR THE GRANT! THIS WILL HELP PUT SMILES ON EVEN MORE FACES!
We expect to increase the number of children participating this year by nearly 80%, as a result of these generous grants!
After this event on September 9th, we received this email:
On behalf of the families of PS 12 please accept our heartfelt thank you for affording our children the exceptional opportunity of a shopping spree last Saturday.
The children were overjoyed and the parents expressed gratitude.
You were patient with us despite the setback with lateness, and you and your group of volunteers showed a level of care and professionalism that made it a delightful event.
Thank you again.

“bridging the gap between home and school”
On Saturday, May 14, 2016, twenty-five children participated in our annual Spring Fling event, held at the Target store at the Broadway Mall in Hicksville, NY. These underprivileged children, from Deasy School in Glen Cove, NY, arrived at the store early in the morning and were served doughnuts, fruit and milk donated by Target.
The children were accompanied by volunteers and given the opportunity to choose up to $60 worth of clothing. If there were any monies left after the purchases, the change was given to the children. After the shopping spree the children and volunteers gathered again for refreshments and crafts.
This successful event was made possible by funds raised by the Make A Smile Foundation, Inc. from a variety of sponsors. These generous donations provided the children and volunteers with a wonderful experience that they will always cherish.

On Sunday, December 11, 2016, we hosted our 34th Annual Holiday Party & Shopping Spree at the Target store in Milltown, NJ. After having some fruit, doughnuts and milk, donated by Target, the Shopping Spree began! The children, each allotted $38.00, were accompanied by adult volunteers while they explored the store to choose the toys and games they wanted to buy. After the purchases were paid for, the children and volunteers gathered to sing carols and Santa distributed gifts to the children. Each child received a photo with Santa, courtesy of Target.
This wonderful event was made possible by generous donations from a variety of sponsors. They provided both the children and volunteers with happy memories they will never forget.
